ISPE Committees

Annual Conference Committee

This committee works with ISPE staff and leadership to plan, develop and execute the Indiana Professional Engineering Conference held every June.  Committee responsibilities include identifying potential topics and speakers, suggesting industry partners interested in exhibiting or sponsoring the conference, and spreading the word to recruit attendees through their local areas.  At times, committee members may serve as room moderators and provide other onsite assistance as necessary. Meets up to two times/month January-March

Budget & Finance Committee

This committee oversees the financial operations of the Society, prepares the annual budget, reviews investments and investment policy, and works with staff to prepare appropriate government filings. It is chaired by the ISPE Treasurer. Meets a couple times per year

Education Committee

This committee reviews education sessions performed by the State Society and chapters to determine if the topics meet the standards for continuing professional education. They also suggest speakers/topics for education activities. Doesn’t typically meet and does most work via email, but email requests require a timely response

Legislative & Government Affairs Committee

This committee reviews legislation filed in the Indiana General Assembly, suggests positions to be taken by the Society, directs advocacy efforts on behalf of members, and serves as the liaison with the Indiana Professional Licensing Agency. Meets as needed during legislative sessions (January-April) and occasionally the rest of the year

Membership Committee

This committee develops innovative ways to attract new members and better serve current members, in addition to promoting professional engineering to young people interested in STEM programs. Meets every other month and completes work via email otherwise

Nominating Committee

This committee identifies and recruits society leaders to fill open positions on the ISPE Executive Board. Meets on demand during recruiting season (Jan-March) and as needed for other open positions
