ISPE is the state
Indiana society associated with the National Society of Professional Engineers (NSPE).
Comprehensive continuing education for engineers is provided by NSPE,
by ISPE directly, and by sponsors such as Red Vector.
The State Board of Registration for Professional Engineers is close to implementing Rules for Continuing Education Requirements that will have to be followed for license renewals beginning in 2012.
ISPE maintains a Continuing Engineering Education Information and Discussion website that is open to the public. The site contains the latest information and discussion associated with the impending rules.
To provide discussions to the site, one must first become a member of the Group site. Requests for membership may be made at the website or may be made to indspe@gmail.com. In the request, include your name, position, affiliation, address, phone number, and whether a member of NSPE and ISPE.
Starting in the fall of 2008, a special short course on the impending Indiana rules is being provided at various locations around the state. Participants in this course will receive 1 PDH credit, which will cover one of the requirements for the proposed rules. Requests for presentation of this course at other locations in the state should be made to indspe@gmail.com.
The Board of the Indiana Professional Licensing Agency for Engineering is close to implementing rules for Continuing Education that will be required for license renewals in July 2012. A Public Hearing on the proposed Continuing Education Rules for PE License Renewal in Indiana will be held on Thursday, January 21, 2010, at 9:30 a.m., at the Indiana Professional Licensing Agency, Indiana Government Center South, 402 West Washington Street, Room W064, Indianapolis, Indiana.
